Recommendations for Polisomnography

Bring current service authorization and medical history.

Wash your hair the same day with soap and do not use oils, gel or fixatives. If you have long hair, do not make a braid or pick it up and, please, do not use hair extensions either.

Hair must be completely dry.

On the day of the exam remember to get up at 6:00 am and not sleep during the day.

On the day of the study, you should not drink beverages containing caffeine, such as caffeinated soda, coffee and tea.

The patient must bring pajamas or comfortable clothes to perform the exam.

You can eat before and after the procedure, however, you should eat soft foods that do not cause sleep problems, you should try not to eat too late.

Do not attend the exam with cough, fever, flu, diarrhea, or any symptoms that prevent it from being performed.

The patient must be completely free of accessories, chains, rings, watch, etc.

At the time of the test if there is any device that emits-receive signals such as radio or cell phone, it must be turned off, to ensure there is no interference.
